Expansion Adds Nine New Private Offices to Meet Growing Demand for Flexible Workspace
SCHENECTADY, N.Y. — Urban Co-Works announced today that it has signed an agreement with Spraragen Partners to expand its Schenectady location at The Benjamin, adding approximately 1,859 square feet and nine new private offices to accommodate growing demand for flexible workspace in downtown Schenectady.
The expansion marks the latest investment by both Urban Co-Works and Spraragen Partners in the continued growth and revitalization of downtown Schenectady. Since opening its first location in Schenectady in 2017, Urban Co-Works has grown into a regional coworking company serving members across New York, Pennsylvania, and Massachusetts while maintaining a strong commitment to the communities where it operates.
The additional space will increase Urban Co-Works’ office inventory at The Benjamin and provide more opportunities for entrepreneurs, remote workers, nonprofits, startups, and established businesses seeking professional office space with flexible terms and hospitality-driven service.
“Downtown Schenectady has played an important role in our growth over the past nine years,” said Jeffrey Goronkin, Founder and CEO of Urban Co-Works. “When we opened our first location here, we believed there was an opportunity to create more than just office space. We wanted to build a community where people could work, connect, and succeed. The demand we’ve experienced has reinforced that vision, and we’re excited to continue investing in Schenectady alongside Brooke, Chris, and the entire Spraragen Partners team.”

Urban Co-Works currently operates locations in Schenectady, New York; Scranton, Pennsylvania; and Holyoke, Massachusetts. Across all three markets, the company provides private offices, coworking memberships, meeting rooms, virtual office services, and professional workspace solutions designed to support today’s increasingly flexible workforce.
“We’ve always viewed Urban Co-Works as an important part of The Benjamin and the broader downtown business community,” said Brooke Spraragen of Spraragen Partners. “Their commitment to creating a welcoming, professional environment has helped attract entrepreneurs, growing businesses, and remote workers to downtown Schenectady. We are proud to support their continued growth and excited to see the positive impact this expansion will have on our city.”
Chris Spraragen added, “Successful downtowns depend on strong partnerships and long-term investment. Urban Co-Works has contributed significantly to the energy and vitality of downtown Schenectady, and this expansion demonstrates confidence in both the local business community and the future of our city.”
The expansion will bring Urban Co-Works’ Schenectady location to 46 private offices and nearly 15,000 square feet of workspace with four meeting rooms, a training room, coworking space, phone booths, and common areas.
“This expansion is ultimately about creating opportunities,” Goronkin added. “Whether it’s an entrepreneur launching a new venture, a remote employee looking for a productive place to work, or a growing company seeking a professional office environment, we want Urban Co-Works to be a place where people can thrive. We’re grateful for the support we’ve received from our members, our partners, and the Schenectady community, and we’re excited about what comes next.”
The new offices are expected to become available this summer.
